PATAGONIAN FOREST HIKE
in Punta Arenas

Immerse yourself in nature on a full-day hike in Punta Arenas and discover the stories of people who, against all odds, have thrived in Patagonia for over 11,000 years.

Description

Experience the immensity of Patagonia’s untouched wilderness as you hike on a little trafficked trail through the quiet hush of a 100-year-old forest.

Located just outside of Patagonia's capital city, this hike in Punta Arenas will take you through winding trails abundant with plant life, up windswept hills, and down into the river valley that runs through the city.

Crest gentle ridges and navigate pebbled plateaus with incredible 360-degree views.  Feast your eyes on the sculpted geography of the Brunswick Peninsula. Learn how the landscape has in turn shaped life in Patagonia.

Enjoy a picnic lunch of fresh local flavours in the heart of the forest, enjoying views of towering green trees with moss-decorated branches. Afterwards, travel deeper into the woods, and witness how subtle changes in the landscape change the forest. Emerge from the trees to pass incredible deposits of Cretaceous fossils as you end your hike, descending into the river valley below.

See a slice of rural life in Patagonia as you return from your day of hiking in Punta Arenas, following the river back to town. Celebrate your hard work with us at a secret local gem with delicious local foods prepared with gourmet flair accompanied by a private tasting of local beer, wine, coffee, or fresh juice.
